Flying in for surgery.
So, you're not from Chicago but you want Dr. Ari to be your surgeon. You're not alone and you're not the first! Dr. Ari has developed quite a reputation because of his expertise and experience - he has performed breast augmentation surgery on over 1900 patients and liposuction & body contouring surgery on over 1200 patients. Hundreds of these patients are from out of town.
Over the years, Dr. Ari's staff has fine-tuned the process for out-of-town patients considering Dr. Ari's surgical skills and expertise.
The simple three step process:
1. Initial Consultation
Typically patients from outside Chicago schedule a Saturday consultation, though Tuesdays are also available. Rest assured that your consultation will be with Dr. Ari - as it is for all patients. He will explain all aspects of the procedures that interest you and answer any questions you may have. If after your consultation you continue to have questions, Dr. Ari can answer them by email or phone.
2. Scheduling
If you wish to proceed with the proposed surgery after carefully considering the risks and benefits, Pat - our Patient Care Coordinator - will offer available dates. Expect to fly in at least one day prior to surgery. The first day will be spent in our office repeating the physical examination, explaining pre and post-operative instruction, and reviewing all the consent materials. The next morning surgery will be performed at the Illiana Surgery Center - about thirty minutes from Dr. Ari's office in Orland Park.
3. Recovery
Expect to spend 7-10 days in Chicago after your surgery - Dr. Ari demands that you stay at least that long so that he can carefully follow your post-operative course and ensure a healthy and safe recovery. Once the immediate post-operative period has passed, we will send you home to complete your recovery - rest assured that your health and safety will remain our priority. In the event that you feel you may need medical assistance after returning home, we can refer you to a local physician to ensure the recovery phase is proceeding normally - and with your consent we will maintain a continuous dialog with your local physician to follow your post-operative course.

If you don't have nearby relatives or friends who can accomodate you, there are several hotels in nearby Oak Brook. Ask us about corporate rates when you schedule your consultation.
