Dynamic expressions like smiles, frowns and laughs are produced by facial muscles that pull on the overlying skin using thin tendon-like connections. The stronger the emotion, the deeper the wrinkles and lines produced by the muscles.

BOTOX ® injection treatments can soften these lines by causing cosmetic denervation of the underlying facial muscles. BOTOX ® effectively relaxes these facial muscles by "blocking" the nerves that innervate them. Tiny micro-injections are selectively delivered by your plastic surgeon to relax specific muscles. The needle used is very fine, and the amount of BOTOX ® introduced per injection is small - discomfort experienced per injection is minimal, often likened to a bugbite.

Overlying skin will remain smooth and unwrinkled, while the untreated muscles will be able to appropriately render facial expressions. The results are not permanent and typically last between 3 and 4 months - and sometimes longer.

This is an in-office procedure and you will be able to drive home immediately after it is completed.

Fees for BOTOX ® treatment of one area are $350 plus $150 for each additional area done at the same sitting.
